After photographing a beautiful pregnancy bump, it’s only natural to go on and photograph the gorgeous new arrival after the birth. It’s so wonderful for the new mom to have a reminder of her incredibly hard work and gorgeous newborn baby in those early days!
I especially like to work with new born babies, particularly within the first 2 weeks of life when they’re very sleepy. This makes it much easier to have them relaxed for the session, ideally curled up into cosy and snuggly positions. This is why, when I offer my newborn photography sessions, I always aim to capture your little one within those precious first 2 weeks. This is when they are lovely and squooshy, faces all scrunched up with that “newborn look”.

Newborn photography photo sessions are currently £75, and includes your beautiful newborn baby (and you and any siblings!) to be coo’d over for as long as we need to get those photos spot on. You also get an online gallery (which can be password protected should you wish), and a selection of low res images for you to use on Facebook, or twitter, or just to show off to your friends and family.
I usually set a time frame of 2 hours, but no baby ever read the rule book, right? Sometimes things don’t go to plan; you might need a little more time to settle your baby, or feed him, or maybe she needs a nappy change (or, *ahem*, I might need a props change…!). That’s absolutely fine; it’s important that we all take our time to make sure everyone is comfortable and happy. I just ask that you tell me if you want to change or do something, and if there’s anything you don’t like, you must tell me. Communication is key! I also ask that you have a peaceful, quiet and very warm room, as your newborn is likely to spend a lot of time naked or in just a nappy.

I have a number of props I always carry with me; hats of various colours, a selection of (very clean!) cloth nappies, hand knitted blankets and baby cocoons. If you have anything you would like to use, you are definitely more than welcome to do so! Lastly, if you’ve found me and you’ve already given birth, or are due imminently, then that’s ok! You’re still more than welcome to contact me to arrange a session.
