Newborn photography portrait sessions are one of the most treasured photo sessions you could have - those early days will be gone before you realise it. It's so wonderful for the new parent to have a reminder of their incredibly hard work and gorgeous newborn baby in those early days!
I can capture beautiful treasured memories of your newborn from the moment they are born; the most wonderful and beautiful time for this is usually during the first two weeks. They will change incredibly quickly, and won't have that "scrunched up newborn look" about them for very long. If you have already had your baby then please don't worry or feel it's too late - we can always make the most of your precious time with baby.
Newborn photography sessions are currently £80, with your baby, the parents and any siblings. You also get a personal website for a year (dating from your session, password protected) to share and show off with your friends and family, and a selection of low res images to download, for you to use on Facebook, or twitter, or send to your friends. A minimum spend of £175 is applicable to your session to ensure a perfect selection of products with your images; you can create your own package from my A La Carte options, or choose from a carefully designed Collection, starting from £250.
I usually set a time frame of 2 hours minimum, but since no baby ever read the rule book, I make this a little bit flexible! Sometimes you might need a little more time to settle your baby, or feed him, or give them a quick change (and I might need to "refresh" my props!); that's absolutely fine. It's important that we take our time, ensuring everyone is comfortable and happy. I just ask that you tell me if you want to change or do something, and if there's anything you don't like, you must tell me. Communication with me throughout is so important. I also ask that you have a peaceful, quiet and very warm room. Your newborn is likely to spend a lot of time naked or in just a nappy, feeling calm and relaxed.
I have a number of props I always carry with me; hats of various colours, a selection of (very clean!) cloth nappies, hand knitted blankets and baby cocoons. If you have anything you would like to use, you are definitely more than welcome to do so! Lastly, if you've found me and you've already given birth, or are due imminently, then that's ok too - you are still more than welcome to contact me to arrange a session.
Please remember: if you are looking to book a newborn photo session, you will need to get in touch with me before the baby is born.
